ACT U16 Representative and NPP scholarship athlete Alex Toohey has been named in a 22 player Australian Under 16 Squad to participate in a Training Camp at the Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence at the AIS from 3 – 5 May 2019.

The camp is the start of the preparation for the 2019 FIBA ASIA U16 Men’s Championships which is the qualifying event for the 2020 U17 Men’s World Cup.

Following an outstanding performance at the Australian Development Camp last September, Alex was selected into the Australian U15 National Team to compete in the Oceania U15 Championships in December 2018. However, a broken wrist prevented Alex from taking his place in that team and touring to Papua New Guinea for the Championships.

Alex has now made a full recovery and return to playing and is in preparations with the ACT U16 Men’s Squad in the lead up to the Under 16 Australian Junior Championships to be held in Darwin from 6 – 13 July.
