Basketball ACT partners with a range of Preferred Participation Providers in the Canberra region to promote and provide opportunities for young people to get involved in the sport of basketball.
Preferred Participation Providers regularly offer clinics, camps and/or on-court opportunities for participants to develop their skills and understanding of the sport.

She Hoops – Leadership & Confidence Scholarship
Young female basketballers will develop skills and gain professional development beyond the court through a new scholarship program as part of Basketball Australia’s women and girls’ strategy.
The She Hoops Leadership and Confidence Scholarship will propel 62 recipients, across two intakes in 2023, on to various pathways within the Australian basketball landscape.
Applications are open for girls aged 15 to 18 who have a demonstrated interest in basketball beyond playing, in coaching, officiating or administration.

BBF – Take a Shot…Making a Shot! – World Basketball Day
To celebrate the first World Basketball Day on 21 December 2023, the Bruton Basketball Foundation (BBF) is calling on you to Take a Shot…Making a Shot!
Grab a group of friends, teammates or family and come together and record yourselves making a shot! With prizes up for grabs, it’s time to get creative. Judges will be looking for :
- Best Teamwork;
- Most Creative;
- Most Skilled;
- Most Funny.
Once you have made your video you will need to go to the website; register, upload your video and make a donation to BBF. BBF will tag you so that you can share and help the Take A Shot…Making a Shot! Campaign go viral!

BBF – Basketball Fundamentals & 2-on-2 Clinic
It’s time to run, stun and have some FUN with Coach Cal and the Bruton Basketball Foundation (BBF) this Xmas at the Basketball Fundamentals & 2-on2 Clinic.
Held at Belconnen Basketball Stadium on Tuesday 19 December, the BBF clinic is open to boys and girls aged 8-18 years.
As always, there will be plenty of fun and prizes to be won – so register TODAY as spaces are limited.
