Walking Basketball is open to anyone 50+ of any ability/fitness level, and is a fun, low impact way to get active.

So if you are sick of walking around the lake, too tired to climb up a mountain, or just want to have some fun indoors while getting active, why not change it up, grab your friends and hit the court with Walking Basketball to start your Tuesday or Thursday mornings*.

We even provide a post-session morning tea!

What is Walking Basketball?

Walking Basketball, has been designed as a low impact, social and fun way to improve the levels of physical activity and social interaction of those aged 50 years and older.

BACT have trained coaches and facilitators deliver a safe and supported program for interested people to get involved.

Our Walking Basketball sessions are a fun way to keep active, meet new people and learn some new skills, and drills/games can be amended to cater for participants’ capability and enjoyment (such as enabling underarm throws or modified basketball hoops).

Who can play Walking Basketball?

Walking Basketball is open to anyone aged 50 years and over, of any ability and fitness level. Walking Basketball is a low impact, social and fun way to improve and increase physical activity levels, get moving and help injury recovery.

Come & Try Sessions 

Come & Try Sessions are a one-off introductory session, designed to help participants familiarise themselves with the Walking Basketball Program, and can be delivered at your venue, or at Belconnen Basketball Stadium.

Fetes & Information Sessions 

Basketball ACT can attend fetes, information sessions or similar community events, to provide information to your organisation or members of your community, about Walking Basketball programs and benefits.

Walking Basketball @ Yours

Walking Basketball @ Yours is tailored program, delivered at your facility.

Suited to organisations that have access to a suitable hall, gymnasium or such, BACT coaches and facilitators provide the equipment and deliver a 1-hour program at your venue.
