Premier 1 Men
Tuggeranong Vikings (78) def. by Ginninderra Rats (95)

The Brown brothers proved that wine isn’t the only thing they can do right in this one, as they were strong contributors in what was a statement win for the Rats. Dylan Rawson did his best to keep the Vikings in contention, however he ran out of steam and was kept scoreless in the fourth quarter after tallying 32 at the final break. The star of the night, however, was the Gunners big, smooth Ben Allen who got hot from deep and managed 36 points (8 three pointers) for the Rats.

Weston Creek Woden Dodgers (57) def. by Wests Money Mechanics Magpies (88)

The Wests train just keeps rolling on as they cruised to another easy victory over the Dodgers. Despite a first half that was extremely hard fought, the Magpies defence again was too much to handle for the opposition, so much so that the Dodgers only managed 17 points in the second half (6 in the final quarter). The balanced scoring of Wests also continued, with Jackson and Dewey leading the way whilst Dylan Simpson, returning from injury, couldn’t carry his good form into the game for WCWD as he struggled with only 9 points.

Tuggeranong Southern Cross Pride (70) def. by Belconnen Ramblers (87)

With Bul Kuol missing another game due to injury, the Pride simply couldn’t match the Ramblers, who are inching closer to being full strength each week. Jason Freshwater was on fire from deep, as he made 5 three pointers in the first quarter against the TSC zone. Jarrod Hampton did his best to keep TSC in contention, however the Ramblers ran away with what quickly turned into a scrappy game.

Premier 1 Women
Tuggeranong Vikings (72) def. by Ginninderra Rats (32)

The Rats were without Patt and this proved to be too large a hill to climb up against the inconsistent-but-talented Vikings. The Vikings side finished well, overcoming a slow first quarter to outscore the Rats 65 – 18 in the final 3 quarters. Capitals Academy youngsters Abbey George and Tegan Ketels scored 22 and 24 points respectively for the Vikings, whilst the Rats just couldn’t find a way to put the ball in the bucket.

Ginninderra Rats – A Tipungwuti (8), P Knight and G Everett (7 each)

Weston Creek Woden Dodgers (81) def. Wests Magpies (51)

The Dodgers have found a run of good form after a small hiccup in the early rounds, and have proven that they remain the power club in the women’s competition. The dynamic duo of Emma Bourne and Sarah Taylor ensured that the game was competitive throughout, however the firepower of Coddington, Turk and Smith was too much, as they each helped themselves to a tidy 16 points apiece. Tracey Beatty (Wests) managed to contest and change enough shots to hold Capitals Academy import Nicole Johnson (WCWD) to 7 points, but it was the pace of the guards and forwards that simply proved too much for Wests to overcome.

Weston Creek Woden Dodgers – A Coddington, C Smith, B Turk (16 each)

Wests Magpies – S Taylor (18), E Bourne (11)
