Position Vacant: 2016 ACT State U20 Men’s Assistant Coach

Expressions of interest are invited from coaches who are interested in being considered for the U20 Men’s Assistant Coaching position assisting Head Coach Jerry Lee. The appointment is on a volunteer basis and is for a period of approximately 5 months culminating in the team’s participation in the U20 National Championships in Ipswich, Queensland, from 14 – 20 February 2016. (Costs to attend the U20 Nationals will be covered by BACT)

Desirable criteria

Be available to attend all trials, squad/team trainings, practice games
Have Club Head Coaching experience (ideally in the age group applicable for the role)
Currently coach in the BACT domestic competition.
Have effective communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to interact positively with program staff, officials, athletes and parents
Be a positive role model on & off the basketball court
Have a general understanding of the high performance environment
Have demonstrated personal resilience and strong work ethic
Have a willingness and loyalty in supporting BACT High Performance Programs
Have a strong desire to learn and develop their coaching capabilities further
Have a current ‘Club Coach’ (previously called Level 1) NCAS Accreditation
Coaches must have a current ‘Working With Vulnerable People’ Registration Card.
