Stats Positions
The rolls for recording a game using Stats requires a minimum of 2 people but will sometimes have 4 depending on the level of the game.
Caller:
The callers job is to commentate all the events which require recording to the imputer.
Imputter:
The inputer makes the statistical entries into the computer based on what the caller calls.
Spotter:
This position may be present depending on the game, there job is to provide assistance to the other positions which may be noting things that are missed and checking the accuracy of what is being recorded.
Backup:
The backup will operate a secondary computer inputting identical items to the main computer in the event the main computer has technical issues.
Stats operates many different systems including FIBA Live Stats, and Synergy Stats. Statisticians must call the game in a specific manner to best assist the inputter, the calling protocol is listed below
