History

Basketball in Canberra began in 1942 and grew steadily, with key milestones including the formation of the ACT Amateur Basketball Association in 1961 and the opening of Belconnen Basketball Stadium in 1990. Today, Basketball ACT supports over 9000 players, 600 teams, and 23 clubs, reflecting a rich and evolving legacy.
