3×3 CHAMPS – National Event U23 & U17
1. Key Event Details
Status: FIBA 3×3 Lite Quest (TBC pending FIBA approval)
Dates: Friday 30th & Saturday 31st January 2026
Location: Selkirk Stadium – Ballarat, Victoria
(Tournament will run alongside U20 & Ivor Burge National Championships)
Maximum Teams: 16 Teams per division (U17 Male/Female, U23 Male/Female)
Game Guarantee: Guaranteed 5 games minimum over two days.
Entry Price: $500 per team
2. The Pathway to International Glory
Basketball Australia’s High Performance team will utilise the 3×3 Champs tournament for talent identification and as a pathway for the junior and senior 3×3 Gangurrus.
U17 Competition: Talent identification for the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal. (Eligibility: Born 2010 or after).
U23 Competition: Talent identification and selection for the national team for the 2026 FIBA U23 World Cup. (Eligibility: Born 2004 or after).
U23 Team Prize: The winning teams (Male & Female) will have their travel covered to qualify for a future FIBA Challenger event in 2026 (TBC).
3. Mandatory Registration Process
Step One
Registration (Mandatory)
Register: All teams and players must register through this FIBA 3×3 Event Portal (Event Maker).
State ID: During registration, the team or player must clearly identify the State/Territory they represent.
Roster: Add all players and the captain’s full names as they appear on their FIBA 3×3 player profile.
Profile Check: All players must have a valid FIBA 3×3 Profile to be eligible.

Approval & Payment
State Approval: Following team registration, the registered team list will be made available to the respective State Organisation for approval (subject to the 2 teams per state limitation).
Payment: The team entry fee of $500 per team must be paid after registration and State Approval. A secure payment link will be sent to the team captain once approval is confirmed.
Final Confirmation: Entry is finalised only once the State Organisation has approved it and the registration fee has been paid.
4. Team Capacity & Deadlines
State Quota: Each State/Territory has a strict quota of two teams per division per gender for initial entry.
Deadline: The initial registration deadline for all teams is Monday 30th of November 2025.
Vacant Spots: Any unused spots will be filled based on highest team ranking points. If a team has no current ranking points, selection will be based on a first-arrive, first-serve basis from the waitlist immediately following the registration deadline.
