Welcome to Waraa Joeys – Basketball ACT’s culturally inclusive program designed for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children aged 5 to 10. “Waraa,” meaning “play” in Ngunnawal language, reflects the spirit of this program: learning through fun, connection, and community.
Waraa Joeys introduces young participants to basketball through engaging games and skill-based activities in a safe and supportive environment. The program focuses on building confidence, teamwork, and a strong sense of belonging, while celebrating and respecting culture.
Delivered by accredited coaches and mentors, Waraa Joeys provides a welcoming space for kids to be active, make new friends, and take their first steps into the sport. Come and play with us!
