Canberra Basketball and Basketball ACT took another moment after the Nationals’ fantastic 87-75 win over Sutherland to acknowledge some more major milestones achieved by key players this season.

In front of another strong Southern Cross Basketball Stadium crowd, who had just watched the Nationals record their fourth straight win to sit just outside the playoff spots, Coach Nat Hurst spoke warmly of the two latest Canberra players to register 100 NBL1 games.

Jazmyn Boutzos reached the milestone in the win over Sutherland, in which put another very consistent game of 8 points and 2/6 from three-point range.

Jaz has only ever played for the Nationals, and has been regular contributor over her five seasons since debuting in 2022. She’s on track for a fifth straight twenty-plus game season, highlighting her durability and commitment to playing for her home town in that time.

Caitlyn Jones joined the Nationals this season, and has really found her feet in the side over the last six weeks, contributing heavily to the Nationals recent run of wins. Against the Sharks, she was front and centre again with 16 points, 3/8 from long range, and with eight rebounds.

The Western Australian arrived in Canberra after her campaign with Marburg in Germany, and is already averaging 20 points and 7.7 rebounds a game in blue and gold this season. She’s previously played at NBL1 level for Albury, as well as Lakeside Lightning and the Warwick Senators in her native Perth.

BACT congratulates Jaz and Caitie on 100 NBL1 games played, and we look forward to a strong finish to the season for the Nationals!

The Canberra Nationals & Gunners host the Norths Bears this Saturday at the Southern Cross Basketball Stadium in Tuggeranong, as part of a mega day of Canberra Basketball, with both our Waratah League teams and both our Waratah Youth League teams also in action.

Six games from 11.30am, with tickets available via Flicket.
