The Gunners Academy program forms part of the male player elite pathway with Basketball ACT and underpins the development of athletes at the senior level.
Designed to provide a continuation of representative player development and a transition from representation of the ACT at the Junior level at Australian Junior Championships into seniors, the program caters for male basketball players typically in the 22 years old and under bracket.
The program is structured to attract and provide an opportunity for players that either finish their representation at the U/18 level and U/20 level.
The program also acts as a talent identification mechanism for athletes from the ACT and the surrounding and greater ACT region that have the potential to develop to SEABL level players for the Canberra Gunners.
The Gunners Academy compete in the Basketball NSW Waratah State League, which is a regional based open league covering areas such as Wagga Wagga, Queanbeyan, Bathurst, Dubbo and Lithgow.
